Department of Sociology

The department of Sociology of Moran Mahila Mahavidyalaya was commenced from 1992, with the establishment of the college .Major course was started in the year 1997. Since then 18 nos. of students have got 1st class with significant rank . Presently more than 70 students are studying in semester(Major) course .Besides, the department has a well decorated wall magazine named “Pratyashi” where all students of the department have been contributing their regular writings , not only in the subject but also on present socio-economic conditions of the society . It reflects the talent of the students.

The department has at present introduced some recent valuable and essential syllabus both major and non-major undergraduate courses. For instance; Social psychology, Mass communication, Globalisation, Science and technology, Industrial sociology, Health and Hospital Management, Rural sociology etc.
