Moran Mahila Mahavidyalaya, established in 1992, is the only higher educational institution of the woman, in the vast Moran region, in the District of Sivasagar.


Department of Economics
The department of economics was started in the year of 1992 and it got major concurrence in the year 1995.
The department consists of four long experienced faculty members.
The department has produced many brilliant students from the days of establishment. Some of them have engaged in various government jobs. The department has organized various seminar, workshops, awareness programmes as well as welfare activities of the locality. The department regularly publishes a departmental magazine and a wall magazine to reflect the talents of the students. The teachers of department has been running one welfare centre named " Equal Opportunity Centre " which is helpful for the upliftment of the socio-economically backward students. Recently the department are going to organize a ICSSR sponsored national seminar on " Socio-Economic Status of Women in North East India: Issues and Challenges " in the last week of January 2014.
